I’m a twenty-six year old fan from Thunder Bay, ON — now studying at the University of Ottawa. I’ve become acquainted with your records only over the past year or so, via your apparently tangential connection to Spookey Ruben. In that short time, your work has made a considerable impact on me and, consequently, my wife and several of my peers. It is consistently and uncommonly beautiful stuff.
Thanks so much for delaying the law thing to concentrate on music for a while. I sincerely hope you find the time and the will to release more of it for many years to come.
Hey Josh in Ottawa, (or Richard, if you wish):
Explain this Spookey Ruben/Richard Davies connection you speak of.
I was just watching the “Running Away” video on youtube the other day!
I’ve been a fan of Spookey’s since grade school. I’m always looking for more interesting music, so a few years ago, I looked into Eric Matthews — Matthews having collaborated with Spookey as well as being an old friend of his. Nothing really came of that, but I did become peripherally aware of Mr Davies in the process. It took me a while, but eventually I did seek out his work in earnest. And I’m very happy that I did! He’s quickly become one of my favourite artists.
Running Away is a great song! I love that bridge…”who can see my dream?…” beautiful!
thanks to early commentators
